After decades of research, attempts and analysis, dentistry is now able to offer patients something that nature has not, a third permanent tooth.
PHI ‘Dr. Vancho’ has been working in the field of dental implantology for 12 years, having over 400 cases and successfully implanted over 1200 dental implants.
The dental implant is a surgical component that connects to the jawbone and serves to fasten the prosthesis (crown, bridge, movable – mobile prosthesis) or may also serve as an orthodontic anchor. The basis of dental implants is a biological process called osseointegration, in which materials such as titanium are placed into your jawbone, then the bone actually attaches itself directly to the implant, growing all around it and supporting it firmly. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves natural bone, actually helping to stimulate bone growth. The material from which the implants are made (titanium) is biocompatible.
Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or all of the teeth.
First, the implant is placed in the bone, then after a variable amount of time, usually 4-6 months, osseointegration occurs. Once osseointegration occurs, the prosthetic element is fastened. Patients are provided with temporary teeth during this process. There are also some implants that can be placed in the mouth and immediately loaded with a definite prosthetic tooth.
Dr. Vancho has successfully shown that dental implants are reliable, painless, long lasting substitutes for lost teeth.
