Teeth whitening is an effective way to change the color of your current teeth without taking away a part of the tooth’s substance.
It is one of the most popular procedures in aesthetic dentistry; it removes various discolorations from the surface of the teeth, making the teeth whiter.
There are two types of teeth whitening: in-office whitening and whitening at home.
Why should you choose in-office whitening?
The in-office whitening takes place under strictly controlled conditions by an expert, and the possibility of damaging the teeth or the surrounding tissue is reduced to a minimum.
At the same time, the results of the procedure are immediately apparent. In addition to whitening, fluoride treatment is also provided in order to minimize tooth sensitivity that may occur after whitening, and it also assists in strengthen the structure of the tooth. The results of teeth whitening are subjective and vary from patient to patient.
The longevity of the tooth’s new shade is individual as well. People who often consume colored drinks (coffee, tea, black wine) or smoke cigarettes, have an increased risk of a quicker return to the previous tooth shade.
As a supplement to the in-office whitening, whitening at home with a weaker substance can be followed, but always with prior consultation and following instructions from an expert.
