Mobile prosthetic

Description

Dentures are mobile prosthetic constructions in patients who have lost most of their teeth and where there is no possibility to produce a fixed – prosthetic construction (bridge). Depending on the number of lost teeth, the denture can be partial (limited) or total (complete). The material from which the denture is constructed can vary: classic acrylic dentures, skeletal visor dentures and elastic (valplast) dentures.

TOTAL DENTURES

When the patient has lost all teeth, total (complete) dentures are made.

PARTIAL DENTURES

Partial dentures are dentures that are made when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw but the patient has no conditions for placing a bridge construction.

  1. Classical acrylic dentures

Completely made of solid acrylate and with the help of hooks (wires) that are fastened to the rest of the teeth.

  1. Elastic (valplast) dentures

These dentures are made of a thin and soft material that fits perfectly into the patient’s mouth; it lays directly onto the gums and allows equal transmitting of the forces for chewing pressure, reducing the burden of the natural teeth. This type of denture fastens with soft and invisible hooks, which is aesthetically almost invisible and does not create problems with speech and nutrition, so patients are easily accustomed to its use.

  1. Skeletal wissil dentures

The wissil denture is a partial skeletal denture where the skeleton of the denture is made of cast metal. The surface of the denture is significantly reduced and, unlike the acrylic dentures, they are thinner, smaller, but firmer and more stable in the oral cavity. For the rest of the teeth it can be attached with help of casted hooks or in combination with porcelain bridges where the connection between the denture and the bridge is with attachments (buttons) which aren’t visible. Aesthetically they are more acceptable, and provide a firm laying and excellent function of the denture.

DENTURES OVER IMPLANTS

To improve the stability of the dentures in the absence of all teeth in the oral cavity, it is possible to place a special type of implant, on which the denture is attached. These type of products are mobile, can be removed from the oral cavity, they are easy to maintain hygiene and are stable while eating and speaking.
